Talking about spirit guides

Ran across this show when I was "flipping" the dial at Blog Talk Radio. I'm on somewhere around 30 minutes from the beginning. I like this lady and her co-host - he's funny! Her web site is http://www.jenniferopsychic.com

On a new path

Clairaudience

Went to the park yesterday in Marietta - a gorgeous day after so many snowy, rainy days. The dog was with me and she was way too excited to do regular walking, so I took her to the other end of the park to blow off steam. Choice one was the creek by the bridge, but there were a few folks about. Choice two was some scrubby woods that I could unclip her without worrying about bothering many people. The word "Snake" came to mind, subtle, like I had mentally said it to myself. I decided on the creek instead.

Dog was ecstatic when I pointed down the 7 foot high sandy bank and said, "Stick!" She is so much fun to watch. She would zoom down the bank, hit the water and put her head under to grab at sticks. She'd bring up anything from arm sized to 3 feet long, charging with enough momentum to scramble up to the top of the bank, for me to throw again into the moving water. After about 15 minutes of this, I knew she'd be sore in the morning even tho she showed no sign of slowing down. Off we went to do normal walking in the park.

After a few rounds I decided to go across the bridge to a spot to sit for a while and watch and rest. We found a bench and sat. A couple with a young daughter were playing - the mom had stayed on the far bank near the scrub woods, the dad was with the 3(?) yo girl and she was wondering how mom got to the other side! They were fun to watch. At one point the mom went up the bank to get to another part of the bank. I heard an "eep! Oh wow." She made her way back to her original spot by the creek commenting, "There was a snake slithering around, I'm not going to go that way."

p.s. I've been in that area before and never seen any snakes.

A favorite quote from "At Knit's End", by Stephanie Pearl-McPhee -

You know you knit too much when...
You show up at your favorite yarn shop's huge annual sale and, before you can go in and shop with the other knitters, the owner takes you aside to remind you that she doesn't want a repeat of what happened last year.

I'm not that bad about beads and torch/glass supplies. Yet.

If you count it from Memorial Day to Labor day, today is the 50th day of 98 days of Summer - The half way mark. Sometimes I like to step outside and feel the heat of July soak down to my bones.

I went off Monday to Nashville to pick up my two girls from their visit with Aunt Lisa (she drives down from Louisville and we swap in the middle.) I think I had a tailwind both ways - The little Hyundai Elantra got an average of 35.5 mpg for the trip!

Back in the Saddle, (Not a Metaphor)

So DD#2 is horse crazy. Since our budget isn't dollar crazy, we had to curtail lessons. DD put an ad in a horse forum for work/ride exchange, and we got a call from a local stable. This summer, Kat and I are putting in hours helping a trainer saddle and prep horses and riders, and then putting everything back afterwards. DD gets one lesson a week for this. (Did you note the word, "crazy" in the first sentence?) So I've been coming back to the house this past week pooped out. I think we're mostly in the groove now tho, and I'll turn most of the work over to DD, and I'll return to my usual schedule. Sometime around the fourth of July tho, she'll be out of town for 10-14 days, so I'll be covering for her at the stable.

Personally? - I believe it's better being back in the bead business, than too tired to task torch time.

Convalescing

Today is a "not on the torch" day, due to some prescribed painkillers from the family dentist. I can, however ship a bead to it's new owner, and do some shop cleanup.

I'd better be done by 6pm tho. I won two tickets to the Broadway musical, Sweeney Todd, playing at the Fox Theatre in Atlanta. - Thank you, AM 1690!!! Niece Nina couldn't make it, so I asked dd#1, Anne - who thinks horror flicks are terrific entertainment, and the two of us are going. I'm not really into the gore scene, but the Fox really is fabulous, and the music should be pretty good.

So, I'm off to find that broom, and dig out the postage stamps, and see if I have anything to wear for tonight.

Dang Bead Gnomes

Ok, so I'm going to list an awesome little set of beads - finally get them cleaned and pix taken. Start typing it up in ETSY, and, um, where did that strand go? Can't very well list it if I can't FIND them, now can I.

Can I be excused? My brain is full.

I am a fan of THE FAR SIDE created by Gary Larson. This is one panel I still think of:

Thats how I've been this week - tied up with household stuff, last week of school kid stuff, Fang traveling and working late stuff, toothache-its-going-to-have-to-be-pulled stuff, and I actually did a public formal torch demo stuff. If I have two brain cells to rub together, they're usually occupied, and throw anything else on top of that and I'm on overload.

Today I'm chilling out. I got in a nap, watched some House, MD, am editing pics, and now get an awesome thunderstorm with all the audio/visuals rolling over the back yard - good stuff.

I did get all orders shipped out - (yay!)

I've been trying to get beads I made LAST WEEKEND, cleaned, photographed and posted - yesterday I finally got them cleaned, and talked dd#1 out of her camera so I could take some pics. I picked up some new backgrounds for some visual variety. I spent a while playing with the setup, lighting, camera settings, and learned a few things, and took some pics. The overall color was off (thought I'd avoided that) but found some neat correction features in GIMP, which is what I use to crop/lighten the pictures.

rumble rumble goes the storm. Feels like a psychic neck rub.

Time to get back to stuff.

Good for me!

I went to a local park and met my sister, Audrey, and we walked for about 40 minutes - yay for our side! This is good stuff. We're scheduled for Wednesday morning, and also Friday. I'm so proud of myself I think I'll go take a nap.

Then I'll go make some beads. I've had some designs in mind, a patriotic theme, that I want to see in glass. I'll hope to get them done today.

Happy Monday! - Renee
